Omar Khayyám. The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. London: George Harrap & Co., 1930.

This is a particularly ornately bound and illustrated edition of the 11th century Persian poem introduced to the West by the wealthy English scholar and translator Edward FitzGerald.  Printed in black and green, the text features 16 full-page color plates by the revered Hungarian illustrator and set designer Willy Pogany.  The binding was executed by the English firm of Rivière in red goatskin with several elaborate color onlays and meticulous decoration.
